Brian Eno Encourages Backing to Get Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort seeks to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in late summer. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The notable list of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of well-known figures from the scene. All were part of the September show, which successfully generated a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a group of talented individuals. The song features a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The team running the project have emphasized that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These resources will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a spokesperson commented. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the territory was described as its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of buildings said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a few million won't make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and proving that another narrative exists.”

The song is launching this Friday. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
