Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
US performer Finn, who featured in popular television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
