Adam Wharton His first start in an England shirt. A bit sloppy when playing out but his whipped set-pieces were a threat. A useful pace-controller for the manager to utilize versus sides that sit back. Cautioned for a rash challenge. 6

Declan Rice Set-pieces on corner kicks and set-plays were dangerous. Was given room to drift on the left yet found himself in an offside position when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Granted a merited substitution around the 60-minute point. Six

Jude Bellingham Functioned in a high position on the right while also contributed with defensive duties. Showed glimpses of brilliance and dragged an attempt wide. Withdrawn in the closing stages by Rogers, a fellow player, after being booked. 7

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his strike smartly stopped from the opposing goalkeeper. With Quansah staying deep, he had to provide width on the right although his balls from wide areas were hit and miss. Substituted for the final quarter-hour. 6

The captain The match-winner scoring two more goals for his country. The opener a typical poacher’s finish and the second a superb headed goal following a clever run from his marker. Aged 32, his form is unwavering and England stand a real opportunity next summer with him up top. 8

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to influence play from the left. Had a good opening when set up by the midfielder however the keeper made the save. Rashford made much more of influence when substituted. 5/10
