That Gory Animated Movie Ending That Stays With Audiences

Among all the mature cartoon movies I’ve ever viewed, nothing has remained with me quite like the terror-laced conclusion of the viscerally violent as well as deeply subversive film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, the Spanish filmmaker created a dark, bleak , often savage world that included some tiny , desolate glimmers of optimism.

Although The Unicorn Wars appears as it came from a drive to push animation even more, the director stated that it was actually a try to communicate a global, multicultural theme regarding “the common origin of every conflict.”

That message is communicated through a squad of brightly hued teddy bears , openly based on a famous line of lovable figures.

Growing up in a society focused on warmongering as well as the defense industry, a lot of these creatures are obsessed with slaughtering unicorns, due to a holy book that claims the bears they previously were rulers of the woodland, before the unicorns drove them out.

Others did not entirely fallen for the propaganda, and prefer to try out drugs or mate in the forest.

Unlike their gentle counterparts, these vivid animals have visible genitals , clear libidos.

For a particular notably brutal, cynical bear, Bluey, the battle against the unicorns transforms into a path to power — and particularly to supremacy above his softer, kinder brother Tubby.

This bear behaves aggressively , an obvious sociopath , and as horror takes over his unit and claims his fellow soldiers individually, he seizes increasingly control for himself, through ever more gory, damaging approaches.

Simultaneously, the unicorns are suffering their own nightmare, as a growing, harmful creature in their forest.

“At the beginning, it feels like a humorous movie,” the filmmaker stated. “However it turns into a more dramatic and melancholic film. And in the finale, it’s a terrifying movie.”

The Unicorn Wars begins resembling among the playful movies by a renowned animator, that uncover a wicked pleasure in allowing cartoon characters curse, engage in violence, or sex each other up.

Subsequently it evolves into something more like a bleaker work by that same director, including ever more graphic violence , a palpable connection to genuine suffering of war.

By the end, it’s a full-on extreme drama carnage.

The fear that makes this a Halloween-friendly watch begins much sooner than that description suggests.

Unicorn Wars is suited for the hardcore fans of gore, for fans of graphic films who want to view a movie they’ve never watched previously, and who can handle a narrative that offers no restraint.

View it in a dimly lit space without any distractions, and that ending will dig under your skin and linger.
