Ways the Denver Broncos and the 'play-dough' quarterback could halt that Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features text commentary of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard through select stations covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , after last week's talk about two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the number of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against Denver, set to play in London this weekend.

But it was positive to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to overcome the shortfall before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and Denver won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They did not always rushing more than four pass rushers instead they could position two LBs in the interior then withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted on a program that Denver could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well then did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly while recent running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in favourable down and distances.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional arm talent, which is different, and he is highly agile.

His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays great poise under pressure and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and is very decisive.

If you consistently rush it consumes the clock and forces the defence to be in play for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defense must defend the field downfield side to side. It can be draining.

The quarterback has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and I think the coach likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up the way he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. In my opinion the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this path.

They excel at embracing their strength, that is running the ball, and this is precisely what they should do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Ever since the NFL started recording turnovers in 1933, the Jets are also the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is surprising when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the West.

It depends on which form of the Chiefs they face because Denver {beat|def
